Personality Transplants

Okay, you must be thinking "What is this crazy March hare talking about". Don't blame you, I sometimes wonder what I'm talking about also. Last night Mr. Rabbit and I were enjoying a quiet evening (not many of these with three bunny-ettes around the hutch) and just talking. We started talking about New Year's Eve and what fun my father always had planning and throwing a NYE party. Now the Big Rabbit (my father) wasn't a party type of person. He worked hard on our working ranch and when not working, or spending time with our family, he was sleeping. Except for NYE. The whole ranch was alive and celebrating. Food and more Food, drink and more drink, and everyone invited spent the night so nobody left impaired. In the morning, the Grey Hare (my mother) cooked a breakfast to start a new year. Mr. Rabbit and his family always came, and to this day, many many years since my father no longer walks this earth, they still talk about the parties and the good times.
Anyway, after talking for awhile, I looked at Mr. Rabbit and said, "It's a shame we can't transplant personalities." As Mr. Rabbit looked at me in the 'it's alright hun, let me get your meds' look, I continued, "Too bad we couldn't have transplanted Big Rabbit's personality into our neighbor, Grumpy Gus." Now Grumpy Gus isn't a next door neighbor, he lives across the street and over one hutch to the north. He is grumpy (but a very nice guy) about everything: the time the mail is delievered, how the garbage is collected, how the leaves fall in Autumn, then grow back in Spring.. you get the picture. Now, before you feel sorry for Grumpy Gus and think he is unhappy and that's why he's always complaining. DON'T. Grumpy Gus is only happy when complaining, just believe me on this.
On we go.. he would do very well with Big Rabbit's personality. Less grumping and more humor about life. Grump Gus' wife would love for him to have my daddy's work ethic and love of family. Plus we need someone to throw a huge NYE party (without me having to clean up after it). See, I'm only a little crazy, not full out. LOL
Well, I'm off to help bunny-ette #3 clean Trixie's cage. Trixie is a rabbit a friend rescued and gave to us (because we take in all strays, or that's what the invisible sign on the front of our hutch has to say, lol). More on my zoo another time.
Bunny Hugs to you!

#2 Why Christmas/Winter Break Should Be Outlawed

I am a reasonable Bunny. Somewhat sane, at least that's what the voices in my head keep re-ensurably tell me, but two weeks off during the winter is insane. Yes, I understand the teachers and staff need a break (from my oldest bunny-ette and the band of Leporids that run together) but, for all that is holy, not in winter! Not when we have unusually cold weather at night and it takes longer before I can send the bunny-ettes out of the hutch to play. Let me explain:
6:58 am this morning. The morning after one of those nights were I don't sleep much (less then 3 hrs, yawwwwwwwwwwn)
Bunny-ette #1: I'm bored
Me: Glad to meet you Bored, everyone here calls me Mom
Bunny-ette #1: Very funny Mom, but I really am bored.
Me: (yawn) How can you be bored? Your room still needs cleaning, Christmas was just four days ago and you still have games/CD's/toys you haven't played with and speaking of Christmas, if you are that bored, you could do your old Mom a favor and help take down the Christmas tree.
Bunny-ette #1: (rolls eyes) Alright, I will clean my room, but you know childhood is too short to be spent doing housework.
Me: Not sort enough, go clean.
Bunny-ette #1 is just like Mr. Rabbit (don't tell Bunny-ette #1 I said that). Both in looks and personality. He will turn 10yo this week (that's Bunney-ette #1, not Mr. Rabbit. lol). They take life seriously, but with lots of humor. His 5th grade teacher tells us, Bunny-ette has a great mind and doesn't waste it. I'm taking this as a complament and hopping away with it.
Bunny-ette #2 is smart enough to watch and learn. After hearing the above exchange, Bunny-ette #2 is happily cleaning out the game room and making room for the new games from Christmas. Too bad. I was planning to have Bunny-ette #2 vacuum. lol
Bunny-ette #3 is getting ready so when her "bestest friend in the whole wide world" she will be set to go. BFITWWW and Bunny-ette #3 have a play date at the friend's house. She's happy, BF is happy, BF's mom is happy.. it's all a ball of happiness here.
Well, I'm off to face the world. Ok, I'm off to drink some coffee, then face the world. Or drink some coffee and face the Christmas tree.

#1 Come in, Come in!

All are welcome! Pour yourself a cup of coffee, tea, or whiskey, whatever is your fancy, sit down and enjoy!

I'm Mrs. Bunny and this is my manifesto (as the title says). More like the ramblings of a mad hare enjoying life with Mr. Rabbit (for almost 13 years) and our bunny-ettes (mainly good kits, but they can be naughty bunnies at times). Mr. Rabbit is a good husband and great father, even on the days he makes me want to pull my hair out. A bald bunny not only is funny looking, but is usually in a poor mood.

Me, well, I'm old. Not walker, wheelchair, purple-haired, Social Security/Medicare old, but in my for...for..forty's. There I said it, or typed it, I don't know why it's still hard after 3 years, but it is. I love taking care of my family and being a stay at home rabbit, no matter how much I complain. I love to cook and bake, which will explain why I need to lose weight and quit being so "fluffy", but more on that another time (maybe tomorrow, who knows).

Come back and enjoy my ramblings!
